Orange County Choppers began officially as a business in 1999. But, for Paul Teutul Sr. his love of riding and fabricating custom motorcycles began back in the 70’s as inspired by such films as “Easy Rider” and Marlon Brando’s quintessential “Wild Bunch”. After some 30 years in steel fabrication – a business which evolved from the back of a pickup truck to become a booming commercial business serving the New York Metro area – Paul Sr. recruited his talented son Paul Jr. to become the chief fabricator and designer for the new company Orange County Choppers. This new company jumped on the scene in Daytona Biketoberfest 1999 with “True Blue” a classic chopper that was started and finished in the basement of Paul Sr.’s House.
