Welcome to the Information/Instructor Recruitment Site for the California Motorcyclist Safety Program (CMSP). The CMSP is California's official motorcycle safety and training program, authorized by the state legislature and administered by the California Highway Patrol. We are constantly on the lookout for qualified motorcycle riders to become training instructor candidates. The program operates more than 68 training sites statewide, and more than 200,000 students have enrolled in either the Basic Rider Course or the Experienced Rider Course offered by the California Motorcycle Training sites. The CMSP has been extremely effective over the twelve years of its operation, and motorcyclist fatalities have dropped more than 70% and total motorcycle accidents have also fallen over 70% since the program began.
